Reach Academy for Girls Announces Open Houses at New Facility in Claymont Claymont, Delaware - November 17, 2009 - Reach Academy for Girls has secured their new facility. They will be operating out of a 28,000 +/- sq-ft facility at 3210 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont DE 19803. The building was formerly known as Holy Rosary Elementary School, but will now become Reach Academy for Girls, the first all girls public charter school in the State of Delaware. They plan to offer the girls a rigorous college-prep curriculum with a focus on leadership and community. Reach Academy for Girls Board of Directors are planning two open houses/registrations, Monday, November 23, 2009 (6pm-8pm) and Saturday, December 5, 2009 (1pm), to share their vision and show their new facility to prospective parents, students and the community. The school's charter was approved by the Delaware Department of Education in April 2009 and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010. Reach Academy has started to recruit students throughout New Castle County for first year enrollment and will provide transportation for students. They are now accepting pre-applications for grades K-8 (including a full day Kindergarten) and plan to start the school with four grade levels (K,1, 5 & 6) during their first year, adding grade levels each year to reach full capacity. Reach Board of Directors indicated, "we are excited about our new facility in Claymont. Claymont is a great community experiencing a renaissance and we want to be part of it. Our site is in a nice safe suburban setting. The traditional stone building is in good condition with nice amenities. The facility is already configured as a school which is a big advantage for a new charter school. Other start-ups often are exposed to the budget and schedule risks associated with construction of a new, or retrofit of an existing "generic" building. With this facility secured, we have minimized those issues and as a result, our resources can get focused immediately on the number one priority, providing our students with a quality education."
